Shiny is back! ✨🩵 "Hold On"
Dear Readers, ♥️
I haven’t published a poem in five weeks! I was busy concluding a very big chapter. 🍭
Thanks for coming back. :-)
Love,
Shiny ✨
Hold On May 6
I prefer the twinkle lights
in the children’s section of the store,
and I have a pen that sparkles
when I write.
I still draw the names I love
in the sand,
and I drink coffee from a mug
covered in stars.
I don’t really care if any of this
is age-appropriate,
silly,
or immature.
I care that my heart
stays young.
I care to hold on
to wonder.
I want the joy that lights up my face
when I give someone a gift
from that part of me.
So, bring on the stickers,
and the lights shaped like hearts,
the notebooks covered in whales,
sailboats, elephants,
and sardines.
Bring me the hope of the tiny,
shiny girl
living inside
this woman’s body.
